Samuel Latour

Samuel is a sculptor and teacher, who lives and works in Toulouse.

He is graduated from the Boulle school where he specialised within art turning, mostly with wood and bronze. After his diploma, he hones his skills through collaboration with designers and artist in workshops and art foundries.
Today, his practice mixes differents mediums such as wood, bronze, steel, plaster and also several differents technics such as molding, woodturning, or chasing on bronze.
In this strong relation with materials and craftmanshift, Samuel Latour explores an abstract language in sculpture. He articulates his research around the idea of «Caligraphy the volume» playing with gestures, lines and geometric shapes, contrasts of textures or even traces left by the tool on the material.
